OPENING DAY PUSHED BACK DUE TO REVISED STAY-AT-HOME ORDER

Stay at Home

As many of you are probably aware by being glued to the news conference today, all outdoor facilities, including tennis, are now required to close under the extended stay-at-home order.

To quote Premier Ford: “We will reopen; we will have a summer; we just need to hunker down for now.”

We still anticipate being able to get in a relatively full season of tennis. Tennis is great for the spirit, exercise is needed for our mental and physical health, and we are certain that safe outdoor activities, such as tennis, will be the first to re-open when it is safe to do so. We will keep you informed through our newsletters, website, and social media channels of our new opening date.

For the time being, we kindly ask that you NOT write asking for refunds, as we still anticipate having a season that makes the reasonable fee we charge worthwhile. We all expected some volatility as we continue to battle Covid and its variants. We will monitor the reopening dates, see what transpires over the next few weeks, virtually meet as an Executive team, and share any decisions made with our members. In the interim, hang in there, stay safe, stay at home, and let’s get this in check. We miss you all and look forward to seeing you on the courts when we are allowed to safely get back to doing the things we love!

Stay safe and of good health,
BVTC Board of Directors
